It's simple and uncomplicated. Instead of mixing lasers and dealing with different cooldowns/ranges, they're all ML's, and it has one AMS with a full ton of ammo. Full armor except for the cockpit.

Alternatively, if you really wanted 2 AMS, you could swap the CT ML for an ERSL, I suppose.

Edit: There's a better, updated build down below Carlo's post.

Or simply drop to 0.5 ton of AMS ammo instead of a full ton.

IMHO it is more important how many missiles you can destroy per salvo rather than the total amount of missiles you can shot down... This is especially true for a locust due to low HP values for each component: for instance, if you have to face an ATM boat and for some reason you can't move below 120 meters, a full ton of AMS ammo won't matter at all because you will likely be dead anyway at the 2nd salvo.

Still 0.5 ton of ammo is quite low, so you should really pay attention to not waste ammo or to enable AMS when needed.

EDIT: still, IMHO maxed radar deprivation combined with some agility should do to the trick most of the times to protect you from incoming missiles... Unless you really want to protect other mech from missiles (but then I would choose something a bit beefier and with more ammo) I can't see much point to choose dual or single AMS over an additional DHS

I never really get hit by missiles in my fleas and locusts because of radar dep and taking cover. But I liked the idea of this Locust model being a pretty good fighter with those 5 lasers, while also protecting the team around it with the dual AMS. I named mine 'Buckler' because it's a little shield, lol.

That last 1/2 ton is a hard choice. It'd be so much better to have 5ML, but giving up half of the AMS ammo defeats the purpose of the team protection. Actually, after watching a video by Brios, I just dropped the engine to 180 and solved the problem. My only difference from his build, I think, is putting the AMS ammo in the cockpit instead of the CT, in case of crits.

    Here's an updated build:

    And here's that video:
