Slap in some ranged shit, hope to win battle of attrition. Quite weak all-in mech relative to game balance, just play fire support.
Interesting design, especially now that three LPLas don't generate ghost heat. Well optimized too. But isn't it a bit hot? I'm using the classic 2 LPLas + MGs and it already builds heat fast on hot maps.
Well it's pretty much like most any laser boat. You've got much higher max DPS than sustained DPS, and your job is to be in max DPS mode while exposed, then cool off and look for another opportunity to strike. This mech is pretty successful in that mode, with a 93 kph top speed, decent jump jet strength, and nice general mobility. The torso twist angle was rather limiting, though. And 93 kph is good, but not great.
Precisely. That's the thing with Blackjacks, unless you find a build that is unique to them, and powerful as such, they usually aren't worth taking over a different Medium. They have less armor, less speed . . . and though high-mounted arms are great for poking over ridges and such, it leaves the 'Mech with absolutely no shield to protect its torsos . . . Still, this is a good build; it just won't generally outperform a different Medium (say, a Wolverine) running 3x LPLs.
Yeah, the high mounts meant more when an AC20 meant more, and a single JJ meant more. Now you speed poke laser boats all day.
HOW DARE YOU DISPARAGE THE MIGHTY BLACKJACK?! Sins have been committed and you shall be named! #BJ4LIFE
