The other 2LB10X builds from 2014 could not have used the HPPC, so I add it here. Initially the armor stripping seems crazy, but in-game this will make a lot more sense - with the +16 armor to the legs and the full armor skills from the skills tree, the leg armor is 70! In addition, nobody and I mean NOBODY aims for the legs of an Orion - they all go for CT or your giant LT. A similar logic applies to your right arm. With quirks and skills the armor value is 35. Being a poor shield it catches very little damage (that is actually a bad thing), so even with this low armor it normally outlives the torso it is attached to. The fairly high mounted torso HPPC gives you some range option and it is the special thing that only the Protector can mount, but you really want to be between 90–200 meters to get the most out of the LB10Xs - those are mouted like a double barrel shotgun and their scatter patterns completely overlap. Since both LBXs and PPCs get crit damage bonuses, this loadout obliterates any opened or low-armor component. ERML is there for shooting down UAVs, and against whoever underruns your HPPC. You can use it as added damage, but this will heat you up (heat is very fine without it). I advise against using it in a brawl or trading because you really should be twisting between shots and not wait for the laser to fully burn.
I haven't played it, but this build does look pretty good. 2xLB10X is always nice, and a HPPC for extra pinpoint looks like it should sync pretty well. I'm going with just 1xLB20X, 1xMRM40 for a more conventional in-your-face brawler, but this build of yours looks quite tempting.
No need for extra heat from ermed as you’ve got the lbx if things get close Downgraded engine for extra armor and DHS
_ Even by stripping 21 armor from legs armor values are still decent... This version has maximum LBX spam capabilities, good speed and decent cooling. No need for that single ERML 'cause it increase face time and you have to fit armor on an useless arm.
Indeed the arm laser is entirely optional and does not see too much use. I put it in the original build because at the time I was frustrated with my teams not shooting down UAVs, and without it I completely lack the ability to do it myself.
