It's just brutally effective, and exhilaratingly fun, that's all. Nothing more to say. =D
First off, I suck with Jenner, my suicide mech number one. Can't pilot it for shits worth, with that said I just love this build, shotgun asshole deluxe! 5/5 from me. Running the ammo build with 280.
So much fun to pour that wrecksauce in someones face!
I used to drive my oxide with streaks only. Following the quirks I made myself and SRM4 boat out of it and I have to agree,... it's a beast! 300 missiles always run out so the trade/off speed vs ammo is what necks this build.

I find even 550 srms too few for a typical round
Been running 600 ammo with an XL255, and I still run out. The loss of speed is definitely noticeable, and can easily put you in harms way if you're not mindful of your positioning --- but the extra ammo lets me get 800+ games regularly, so I'm satisfied.
How do you get 800 damage with 600 missiles that do 1.15 damage per missile?
SRMs deal 2.15 damage per missile.
(my max in Oxide is 1300-ish with arty, and 1100-ish without)
Also, you don't need to go down to a 255 engine to load 600 missiles. Check my build somewhere on page 2 or 3, the armor is heavily stripped but on less exposed components only, it does not significantly lower the survivability (probably less than going slower).
Yeah, I saw that, epikt. I've actually recently dropped some armor from certain components, but I still kept the 255 engine. So I'm now sitting at 650 ammo.
I was running the SSRM build for counter-light running, but with all the ECM this weekend I swapped over to the SRM4 build. This thing is great, but it burns through ammo FAST.

special feeling of mining continues even on losses, but still running out of ammo with the XL280, I had raven cored badly and the DDC was a walking stick, 0,5 T more and this was a win

Yep, I run out with 600 ammo too.
But there is a limit to the amount of ammo you can load. If you run out of 6 tons and you're the last one, you're definitely less to blame than your teammates who didn't dealt enough damage themselves.
You can't ask a mech to be designed to do the work of 12, it's a team game.
I love this loadout so much my wife is starting to get jealous. I consistently get 700+ damage games with multiple kills and most damage dealt.
