... oh dear.
"But I thought the annihilator had enough armor to make an XL viable..."
This goes straight into this thread. It's just an obvious troll, and The only way you'd probably ever see this played is if you solo drop with me, but I give you all, the Predator.
It has ECM, it's viable.
And don't discount decent mobility with Tag plus large amounts of ATMs at short range.
Now 3x Tag... eh.
Decent alpha - adjust for heatsinks/ammo as you see fit.
This. This actually works, it's amusing since it started as a troll but with heavy mediums it actually works. Doesn't post stellar numbers or anything and heat management is a little iffy but I might keep this on one of my Hellbringers for a little bit!
*EDIT* Since I can now consistently break 500 damage per match, this shall now be posted as a legitimate build in its corresponding section.
I dislike XL Assaults, but at least it makes sense when they boat heavy ballistics. But this?
Missiles, PPCs and HMGs. Why go XL? People confuse me :S
That's immediately after that KGC died, just to clarify.
Whelp; then you go the OTHER direction; and split your ballistics in a way that makes totally no sense.
First game of the event and I run into THIS beauty of a King Crab. Clearly couldn't decide if he wanted to run boom or dakka; so he ran... both?
Don't mind my Dire Wolf build; it's old but effective in mid-range brawls.
@Tarriss Halcyon That looks like a viable build to me. 2xRAC2's to make the enemy fall back, 1xAC20 for a nice opener. I used to do that with Cataphract back in 2015...
My problem with it is more the fact it's a King Crab running that. As you said; you ran similar on a Cataphract. To me, this build is more something I'd expect on a Mauler, a Jagermech with a tiny engine or that one Cataphract that can run an AC20. He'd have plenty of ammo for each weapon system, but... I dunno; it feels kinda lacking to me for some reason.
5xcLRM5...on a Jenner IIC...
I have a personal hatred for LRM's on an Atlas, but when when they make it work...and win the game...
Hey; don't knock the LRM Atlas! There's just a very specific playstyle for it. Namely; run it with Large Lasers; and fight at around 300-450m. Basically; play like an MRM Atlas that doesn't have to peek to get damage off around walls. Share armor with the team; fight well. Two of my three Atlas run LRMs; though that's because one's a Fire support AS7-K (Gauss, 2xPPC, LRM 15 and 2xML) and the other is the LRM AS7-S (2xER Large, 2xMed, 4xLRM10).
Now; the most recent cringe I've stumbled into: the largest HMG boat I've ever seen. Not sure the HPPC and Large Pulses can help with this one.
Haven't seen this yet, but if I post it here maybe I encounter some trolls
6xLMG, 2xMRM30 on a kingcrab
So far, nothing extremely bad, despite lacking some punch... But then I too a look at the ammo count
Talk about skewed priorties.
Ooooh, I saw a build like that recently..
Here, I present, the Schizo-Stalker
(actually, that sounds terrifying)
And another one.. note the two TAGs...
If one TAG is in a torso and one in an arm, they can TAG two targets at once. Seems reasonable to me :^)
Separate names with a comma.
