Did PGI just make the Arctic Wolf better? Clan SRM 6 -Heat reduced to 3.75 (from 4) -Cooldown reduced to 3.75 (from 4) Group 1 - 4xSRM6 Arms + SRM2 Group 2 - 4xSRM6 Torso + SRM2 Group 3 - Chainfire all the missiles
They did. My huntsman Pakhet is also receiving changes now! PGI: "Ghost heat when firing more than 6 is gonna be higher now guys, so the ACW and other missile spammy boyes are done-zo" Everyone Else: "Ghost heat is an easily avoided band-aid fix that has little to no effect on most builds. Even without ghost heat the 6 PPC stalker would be a relic of the past due to constant nerfs to the PPC weapon." PGI: "So we make energy draw?" Everyone Else: "FUCK NO. What's the point of yet another resource bar that can be avoided? Fix the general heat management in your game and add a mechanic to avoid dominance of high pinpoint damage." [/rant]
There's going to be a lot of new SRM6 builds. Remember though that since both the heat and the CD were reduced by the same amount, your mech isn't going to be cooler than smurfy tells you. 22% heat seems really hot to me... I might go down to 7xSRM6 and bring more heat sinks, ammo, or a bigger engine.
Here is the one button more heat efficient version (but it isn't going to one shot an Atlas as often). Or faster..
See, I was thinking something like this: You've got a big two-punch, but it's cooler with more sustained dps than the versions with SRM2
Remember that SRM2s have a spread of 3 vs a spread of 5 for SRM6s. I have a feeling that although less damage, the one shot of SRM6s mixed with SRM2s will be more lethal. Two shots of SRM6s, especially half a second apart, will probably have more missiles completely missing the target. Also, the mixed build is a bit cooler per alpha and has quicker follow up shots and similar dps.
I am going to say that the spread of 3 vs 5 makes a huge difference in lethality. Lost a torso mid-game and still was able to finish fairly strong.
