Features 2 heat scale groups: 5xcHSL and 8xcERuL. Set your weapon groups accordingly.

I've kept some armor on the arms to slightly increase survivability.

    5/5,
This is awesome. I think it is the best PIR-2 build.

wow, this thing is much more heat efficient than I expected it to be.

I'm seriously considering to try out a Piranha now...

EDIT: Since they're on sale, I splurged.

This thing is evil. The 8uL are heat neutral if someone didn't die from an alpha (anything below assault barely seems to be a problem though)

That's why it's OP. It is even more blatantly OP the PIR-1 with 12xMG: you can literally win staring contests with assaults.

The build is good and I think the best PIR-2 build, but I think the 3xHSL + MG's PIR-1 is a much deadlier build. After skilling up both; going in blind I would take the PIR-1.

PIR-2 is still super fun to play though. you just have to be even more careful than in the PIR-1. Effectively landing your full burns takes some real skill and positional thought.

I realize this is an old thread, but why not just make this same build on the PIR-3? It would be better because of the structure quirks. (I guess the empty shield arms are really that much more worth it??)

Mostly because arms tend to be blown off very easily and you would lose some firepower, plus the build would be slightly asymmetrical which feels very odd and does not qualify for perfection XD

But yeah, it will still work if PIR-3 has the same or better maneuverability

Yeah, that all makes sense..... I still can't tell if I ever benefit from the tiny bit of structure on the PIR-3 or not, especially I bc I don't take any of the survivability tree, but maybe I should.

I only own the PIR-1 and PIR-3 so far, so that's why I asked in the first place. I still run 10 micro and 4 heavy smalls in the 3, which is solid enough, I think.
