This build is excelent (and is getting more and more common) in Faction Play / Scouting. You should shoot very close to minimize spread: this way, you can two-shot (or even one-shot with a backstab) most medium XL mechs. If you feel you have too much ammo, you can swap 1 ton of ammo for 2 uPL or 2 SL, your choice. ALT: HSL as backup weapons
Exactly: TBH I would never use this mech in QP for multiple reason, mainly it has low armor, very easy to focus and low armored side torsoes... I believe you have even less chances to fire more than 20 strikes in QP if you ever engage any heavy / assault... And, most importantly, you need to brawl. I truly believe that it simply won't work as intended most of the times (too slow, even with a XL255 and too short ranged) unless you manage to use your team mates as meat shields. IMHO is too risky and not very viable or reliable in QP, because you can't chase fast mechs and you can't brawl multiple heavies / assaults. You can ruin the day to someone as easy as you can be wrecked from anyone who has better weaponry than you. TL;DR There are better options for QP, this one shines especially in scouting, despite there are comparable or better mechs for brawling, like the huntsman.
Agreed, although I don't play the Scout mode often. I tried the 2 x uac20 build ages ago, and although it's a laugh to run, it's just not that effective in the long run. I find the 2 x uac10 or lbx10 options far more effective.
5/5, Used for it's intended scouting role, this build is a monster. But don't use it in prolonged engagements like QP or FP.
Dirty scouting build against the previous IS meta of SRM brawling. Eats it to Wolverines and AC10 BSWs for free if you can't get dragged in by your faster teammates initiating a brawl.
