This is my new CTF-2X so the jury are still out on this build. I decided to try a build that looks like a Zeus (lasers and missiles, no ballistic), and was surprised to discover that it is better than I expected for several reasons: 1. The 1st missile launcher you install sits *on top* of the arm, so it is not THAT low (a 2nd one will go under the arm - aweful!) 2. The MRM30 and LLs cycles times sync perfectly! Both have great cooldown quirks (-20%, -10% respectively) and sync well in effective range. Even the beam & stream durations are close enough to be treated as the same. 3. Weapons are light enough to allow a 300 LFE which gives nice mobility. 4. Its a phract and they come with mega armor quirks so it is actually tankier than a Zeus.
The synergy sounds good. I have decided to add a MRM10 by downsizing to a 280 LE and stripping 0.5 ton of leg armor.
Just note that the MRM10 will be attached very low UNDER the arm. This is why I ruled out any big MRM configuration that involved 2 launchers like MRM30+20, and opted for just one launcher and more laser firepower.
5/5, Build: https://mwo.nav-alpha.com/mechlab?b=be8a74aa_CTF-2X Performs in longer firefights where you have the range advantage, lots of good points in this OP post, went with AMS and XL325, making it easier to keep the range Highest damage played: 990
