Here is a very reliable mech configuration I noticed none have posted. I put it together from a spare std 225 engine I had from another mech I modified. I also left a spare ton so you have a choice of either put in an extra laser, an extra Double Heat Sink or and extra ammo if you find you are very trigger happy and spend a lot of ammo. Standard engine is a must to last longer and speed is good enough, you can also use the extra ton to put in a std 235 engine if you feel the need for the extra speed. Firepower is good enough since the ultraAC fires fast enough to emulate an ac10 or ac15 and the range of the uAC5 is quite long to be used as a support sniper.

I haven't used an UAC5 yet, so I won't comment the Build / rate it.

    But one thing for sure:

No, you don't. I mean, you don't have a spare ton. The build as is has only 9 Heatsinks - won't be able to launch. One needs at least 10 Heatsinks, so there goes the "spare" ton.

I like this idea. As someone said, it's not a legit build yet because of the number of heatsinks. Your post is also 5 years old. I'm sure you've figured that out by now. ;)

Here's what I believe is an improvement. It might be a little hot, in which case it might made sense to downgrade the ML's to ERSL's, but I'd hesitate to do that, because the lasers are more like the main weapons, and the UAC5 is an amplifier. Here it is with 6ML's and an LFE:

Might also make sense to just put an AC5 in there instead of a UAC5, since it weighs less, runs cooler, and is more reliable. I think this build will perform awesomely, considering the amazing quirks that will affect both the AC5 and the lasers.

Good call. I guess 140 rounds of AC5 with a single cannon's not necessary, lol. Better cooling is preferable.

I wouldn't drop the engine, though:

I like the better heat efficiency for a ever so slightly slower mech
