The best LRM boats in the heavy category IMHO are the Mad Dog and Sunspider. Their mobility makes them able to re position quickly to get a better line. This thing is slow as a pile of bricks, so your ability to reposition is dubious at best, and you're slower than most clan assaults (and even many IS assaults), so chances are good you will be left in the dust. However, SRM's, Streaks, and ATM's require even more mobility than LRM's in order to be deployed effectively, so I think your best bet is to turn this thing into an unholy LRM cancer boat: _ LRM80 or bust!

Woof! For comparison: _ (has a nice 10% missile velocity quirk, and mobility quirks which are nice) _ (has a nice 10% missile velocity and +.5 target decay) I'd just go good'ol LRM80 on the NCT myself: _ But 64.8 kph is a little slow. In any situation that requires mobility, you're screwed. The NCT can certainly work wonders in situations that do not require mobility though.
The advantage is 10% range and sensor range +100, you can sit FAR away get locks and dump LRMs, if you dont get eaten by lights.
